Oregon Battle of the Books

CALLING ALL BOOK LOVERS!  REGISTER NOW FOR OREGON BATTLE OF THE BOOKS!

Deadline for registering teams - now extended to Nov 5th

Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) is on this year!  Students can create teams of four to jointly read 16 books and compete against other teams to answer questions about their reading.  Between now and January students prepare by reading the awesome selection of books for this year (2021-2022 OBOB Title Lists – Oregon Battle of the Books) and meeting to practice battle questions.  Teams can be composed of students attending Jacob Wismer in-person or who homeschool or attend Flex Online and live within Jacob Wismer school boundary.  The Jacob Wismer OBOB committee will provide a zoom orientation in the coming month to review the program, explain battles, and provide suggestions for working with your team.  This is a GREAT opportunity for your students to get exposed to new books and authors and to share the fun of reading with other students.  We hope you will join us!

Information about the OBOB program and a form to complete to register your team was sent home with students this week or by email through your class teachers.  To register, please complete the paper registration form and provide $20 (cash or a single check made out to Jacob Wismer PTO) in a sealed envelope to your student’s teacher, with your TEAM NAME listed on the envelope.
